Project Description
This residential interior painting project focused on updating a townhouse in Fremont, Seattle. The work included painting all interior walls, ceilings, and trim to create a brighter and more open feel throughout the home.
A major part of the project was painting the kitchen cabinets. The cabinets were changed from a dark espresso finish to a two-tone look with black lower cabinets and white upper cabinets. This shift gave the kitchen a more modern style and helped the space feel larger.
The interior painting project was completed in four days. By combining wall painting with cabinet updates, the entire interior came together with a fresh and consistent look.
Background Story:
The homeowner had recently completed some remodel work on the lower level of the townhouse. While the layout updates improved the space, the existing paint and cabinet colors still felt heavy and outdated.
Interland Design worked with both the remodeler and homeowner to bring the space in line with the new design direction. Instead of making small changes, the plan focused on updating all surfaces at once so the home would feel complete.
The decision to go with a two-tone cabinet design helped break up the kitchen visually. It also added contrast that worked well with the lighter wall colors used throughout the home.
Scope of Services:
- Residential Interior Painting: All interior walls, ceilings, and trim were painted to create a clean and updated look across the townhouse.
- Wall and Ceiling Painting: Walls and ceilings were coated to brighten each room and improve the overall flow of the space.
- Trim Painting: Trim areas were painted to match the new color palette and give each room a finished appearance.
- Kitchen Cabinet Painting: Cabinets were repainted from a dark finish to a two-tone design with black lowers and white uppers.
Paint Products Used: Sherwin-Williams Super Paint
Project Cost:
Approximately $6,500 for the full interior repaint and cabinet painting.
Results:
After four days, the townhouse had a completely updated interior. The lighter wall colors made the rooms feel more open, while the two tone cabinets became a standout feature in the kitchen.
The combination of cabinet painting and full interior repaint helped tie the remodel work together. This residential interior painting project shows how paint can change the feel of a space without major structural changes.
If your home feels outdated after a remodel, a full residential interior painting project can bring everything together. Updating cabinets along with walls can make a bigger impact than expected.
