Jake Cervilla acquired Interland Design in September 2019, inheriting a painting company with roots stretching back to 1987. Three months later, COVID-19 changed everything. While other contractors scrambled or shut down, Jake used the disruption as an opportunity to rebuild operations from the inside out. He restructured crews, refined processes, and made a deliberate choice about what kind of company Interland Design would become. Not the biggest. Not the cheapest. The one that treats customers the way he’d want to be treated. Today, that philosophy shows up in every detail: crews work in two to four-person teams, an office manager focused on communication, and a supervisor on every job.

Some painting companies send whoever’s available. We send dedicated crews who own their work.
Our team includes painters organized into two to four-person crews, each with a lead painter responsible for your project from start to finish. An office manager handles scheduling and keeps you informed throughout the process. A supervisor inspects every job to ensure our standards are met before we consider any project complete.
This structure isn’t complicated, but it’s rare. It means you always know who’s showing up. It means someone is accountable when you have questions. And it means quality doesn’t depend on which crew happens to be free that week.
Serving the Seattle metro area since 1987 means we understand what Pacific Northwest homes and buildings actually need. The rain. The humidity. The older Craftsman homes with original wood finishes. The HOA requirements in planned communities. The quick turnaround demands of property managers between tenants.
Whether you’re a homeowner in the suburbs or a property manager overseeing multiple buildings, we bring the same structured approach and local knowledge to every project.
We schedule exterior work during the dry season from late April through early October, and handle interior projects year-round. After 37 years in this market, we know how to plan around Seattle weather instead of fighting it.
